OSMANBEY WHOLESALE FASHION DISTRICT

Osmanbey is the wholesale district for all things haute couture, wedding dresses, and occasionwear. This wholesale district will have your jaws dropping at every turn, from embellished dresses, luxury gowns, and designers from the gulf regions showcasing some of the most extraordinary hand-crafted garments on this planet. An interesting fact is Osmanbey was the original wholesale hub way before Merter and Laleli came about. Most designers are often copied from this district hence wholesalers in Osmanbey have huge signs on the windows saying, “no photos or videos allowed”.

Osmanbey wholesalers are very protective of their apparel, in fact, more than 98% of wholesalers patent their designs to avoid people making knockoffs. I have met wholesalers in Osmanbey who require you to book an appointment to view new collections. With many hesitant to share or upload their new products via WhatsApp, Telegram, or Instagram. This however should not stop you from taking a trip to Osmanbey as there are hundreds of wholesalers within this district that also sell affordable everydaywear. Not to mention every vendor in Osmanbey speaks fluent english, so you won’t need a translator or fashion buyer. Osmanbey is also home to luxury plus-size wholesalers. To all my USA boutiques looking for vendors who cater to women who were blessed with curves, Osmanbey is the place for you.

The best thing about Osmanbey is most vendors offer retail and wholesale, meaning you can come to this district and buy 1pc. In fact, most people from the Mena and Gulf regions come here to buy their wedding gowns or get dresses custom-made. Osmanbey as mentioned is all about high-end luxury, the rich and famous often come here to buy exclusive ready-to-wear pieces. I remember meeting a well-known designer in Osmanbey, who never recreates the same dresses. He wanted to be known for his unique designs and clients who often purchased from him would be the only ones in the world to have that particular design. You can see why I mentioned this wholesale district is very overprotective of designs, with most vendors already having an established global customer base of private clients.

Of course, luxury goods also mean higher wholesale prices. If you’re just starting out chances are you may find Osmanbey far too expensive. Prices for occasionwear will set you back at least  $450-$1000 and that’s just for 1pcs! Even women’s apparel such as trousers, blazers, and shirts were starting from $60-$80. Modest wedding dresses and abayas were also $90-$300 per pcs. But as mentioned this is all opulence wholesale. You’re paying higher prices for the best quality garments, which in turn you can mark up on your boutique for around 350-500% retail price. So in the long run your boutique or brand will be making a good profit regardless. My honest advice would be, unless you’re an established luxury boutique or brand, that has a high-end clientele, then come to Osmanbey. But if your just starting out and distinguishing your niche market, I would stick to more affordable wholesale districts such as Laleli and Merter. You don’t want to run the risk of spending all your start-up capital on expensive wholesale goods that you can’t shift. That’s not to say you still can’t take a trip to Osmanbey and admire the wonderful designs and draw inspiration.

Transportation

Unlike other wholesale districts in which the T1 tram passes, Osmanbey requires the use of the metro. You can easily take the M2 metro from Yenikapi located in Aksaray, which will take you straight to Osmanbey.
